Activity Description

Ongoing, real-world studies evaluating second-generation anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapies in the management of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME) demonstrate efficacy of these therapies with reduced treatment burden in diverse patient populations. However, identifying patients, especially treatment-naïve individuals who might optimally benefit from these therapies, can be challenging. Emerging clinical biomarkers for vascular instability and inflammation have the potential to help guide treatment selection while also providing tools for monitoring treatment outcomes. In this text-based CE Snips activity, experts in the field evaluate clinical biomarkers that have the potential to guide treatment selection and monitoring of disease and utilize the presentation of real-world cases to assess durable therapies that maintain efficacy while reducing treatment burden in patients with nAMD or DME.

Target Audience

The intended audience for this activity is retina specialists and ophthalmologists involved in the management of patients with DME or nAMD.

How to Participate in This Activity and Obtain CE Credit

To participate in this activity, you must read the objectives, answer the polling and pretest questions, view the content, and complete the posttest and evaluation. Provide only one (1) correct answer for each question. A satisfactory score is defined as answering 3 of the 4 posttest questions correctly. If a satisfactory score on the posttest is achieved, Vindico Medical Education will issue an AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ certificate.
