Support Statement

This activity is supported by an educational grant from Genentech, a member of the Roche Group.

Activity Description

Second-generation anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapies and emerging agents with novel mechanisms of action may expand treatment options for patients with retinal diseases when considered within current treatment approaches. Evaluation of data from pivotal clinical trials and real-world studies can help inform clinical decision-making regarding the integration of these agents into practice. However, findings presented at scientific conferences may not always be readily accessible to busy clinicians and healthcare professionals. Timely review and critical appraisal of these data may support evidence-based, individualized management decisions. In this CE activity, experts in the field review recent clinical trial and real-world evidence presented during the Clinical Trials at the Summit Annual Meeting, including data related to treatment durability, safety, and efficacy. They also discuss the potential clinical implications of newer and investigational therapies for the management of patients with retinal diseases.

Target Audience

The intended audience for this activity is retina specialists and ophthalmologists involved in the management of patients with retinal disorders.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Evaluate recent clinical trial and real-world evidence to inform treatment durability for patients with retinal diseases.
  • Assess safety and efficacy data to determine the potential role of newer and investigational therapies for the management of patients with retinal diseases.
