Activity Description
Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) in pediatric patients presents unique diagnostic and treatment challenges, often leading to delays in care and long-term disease burden. This CE program brings together experts from pediatric gastroenterology to explore the pathophysiology of T2-mediated inflammation, guideline-based diagnostic strategies, and the evolving role of biologics in EoE management. This activity features the dynamic Case Choice format which was presented live, during which attendees selected clinical cases for discussion and provided real-time input on clinical decisions through interactive polling. Faculty reviewed practical approaches to patient selection for biologics, caregiver counseling, and strategies to enhance interprofessional collaboration. The result is actionable insights to improve early recognition, personalize treatment, and enhance long-term outcomes for pediatric patients with EoE.
Target Audience
The intended audience for this activity is US-based physicians, APPs, and nurses who specialize in gastroenterology or pediatric gastroenterology involved in the management of patients with EoE.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Incorporate knowledge of T2-mediated inflammation into treatment planning for pediatric patients with EoE.
- Implement guideline-based diagnostic strategies to differentiate EoE from other esophageal disorders in pediatric patients.
- Integrate biologic therapy into the management of pediatric patients with EoE based on the latest clinical evidence and guideline recommendations.
- Apply collaborative care strategies and interprofessional approaches across pediatric providers to support long-term disease management in pediatric patients with EoE.
