The goal of this activity is to discuss practices that maximize the narrow window for medical intervention following an acute ischemic stroke. We will review criteria for the use of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and compare its efficacy to endovascular procedures. Strategies to improve door-to-needle time and improving communication between departments will be discussed, as will the expanding role of telemedicine in managing stroke patients.
To make the presentation as interactive as possible, time has been set aside for patient cases, with audience questions, to explore how you would manage a patient compared with your colleagues’ approaches. There also will be ample time for discussion to hear how different practice settings are handling challenging circumstances in patient care, as well as time to address your questions. We hope you can join us for this educational forum.
With best regards,
